Remedicare are recruiting for a family run 9 bed service which specialises in learning disability and mental health clients.
This shows in the ‘because we care’ attitude of our professional, skilled and compassionate staff team. Which enable our residents to live a ‘home from home’ life, where they are supported to enjoy and make the most of every day.
We are now looking for a Deputy Manager to join us at this exciting time in our development as a forever growing organisation.
Role for the Deputy Manager
To ensure that the home operates in accordance with all our policies and procedures, CQC registration requirements and our core values
To be responsible for monitoring broad aspects of the management of the home including the undertaking of all required audits, supervision and training of care staff, together with the recruitment and of staff , ensuring compliance with all internal and statutory requirements.
Ensure that all staff receive regular supervisions and are provided with a personal development & training plans as appropriate.
Ensure that staff undertake all mandatory annual training
To work in a care capacity for at least one shift per week to maintain a highly visible care presence and thus act as a role model by demonstrating expert care practice and to provide cover for the Care Manager in their absence.
To ensure that infection control standards are maintained.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are maintained
To be responsible for making sure that when people move into the service all paperwork has been completed and correct notifications made and these remain up to date
To ensure that the home offers a warm, caring welcoming homely environment to all residents and visitors
To ensure that the home is maintained in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
To attend and sometimes chair staff and resident or relative meetings as required to encourage the training of all staff.
Skills & Experience for the Deputy Manager Role
Demonstrate knowledge of Health & Social Care Act 2008 and CQC Standards and compliance with these requirements in a Care Home setting.
Effective communication skills
Good IT literacy and the ability to use computers - the level required would include, the use of the internet, emails and Microsoft office.
Ability to complete audits accurately and address any shortcomings
Broad range of care skills for older people requiring residential/dementia care.
Basic current Health and Safety law including food hygiene and manual handling.
Demonstrate knowledge of compliance and quality management.
Able to manage difficult situations effectively.
Able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Able to use and work on own initiative
The ideal Deputy Manager candidate must:
Hold a level 3 in health and social care, and be working towards/willing to work towards a managerial qualification
Demonstrate proven shift and team-leading experienced within a residential care home setting
Have the flexibility to share the on call rota
